November G3

We are ready for November G3!!

This is going to be an introductory night where we can all get to know each other! We have new leaders, new girls and new ideas for this year! We are so excited and hopefully the dates can work themselves out.

Like we said before, we are going to plan on the 3rd Saturday of every month. This month we did have to change it due to Thanksgiving and plans and there was already a young group event so this month it is different. Parents, mark your calenders for the future! We have a lot of fun things planned!

What: November G3
Where: Imagine Artists Office (117 S. Main)
When: November 28st 6:00 p.m.

Please drop your girls off at the Imagine Artists office and the leaders will give them a ride home!

Please RSVP by leaving a comment. We will be making phone calls in the next week to make sure everyone gets on this blog and checks! We will try and do a better job of posting things, like pictures after G3, and any information you may need!

Can't wait to see you all!!

G3 Update

Happy November!

We want to supply an update to everyone about G3!

We are currently in the process of getting the program organized so that it can run more efficiently and regularly. We are forming a team of committed leaders for the year 2010. We are also looking at a potential day as a "regular set time" for G3 to take place every month. The potential time for this would be the 3rd Saturday of every month. G3 would then always (other than exceptions) take place at this time. This is not permanent, but please check your calendars and let us know if there would be a recurring conflict for using that day.

We would like to compile an updated list of contact information for each girl. If you could please leave a comment with the name of your girl, a phone # to reach you at, and your e-mail address, we will keep our records updated and keep you informed.

Thank you!

hobbies, dreams and cows

Thanks to Taryn for hosting our first G3 night! All of us mentors had a wonderful time, and we hope you girls did also!!

Kristi, your games we great! Any game that involves eating chocolate is a winner by me! :-) Thanks for planning and leading them.

I am waiting for pictures to be emailed to me and I will post them as soon as I get them. Patience please.

We are still working on a date for the March G3 night. Majority vote was to make cookies and deliver them to some of the elderly in church. We will most likely be starting earlier, around 3:00pm, so we get done and can deliver them before it gets too late.

Check back in a couple of days for pictures and a date.

Have a wonderful week!!

Saturday Night

Hello! Saturday evening is quickly approaching and that means our first G3 night!

I want to make you all aware of the location change for the evening. We will now be at Taryn's house. I won't post it on here, but her address and home phone are in the church book or in the local phone book (under Fred) in case you would need to contact us that evening.

As before, have your daughter to the church at 6:30pm and we will take them to Taryn's. Once the evening is done, we will provide transportation home.

Kristi has come up with some great games and we are excited to have tacos and brownie sundaes to eat! We are looking forward to a fun evening!

Thank you for your prayers and we ask that you continue to be prayerful for the evening.

Reminder

Hello! This is just a reminder that our first G3 night will be on Saturday, February 21st @ 6:30pm. Please have your daughter to church a few minutes before then and we will provide transportation to Heather's house.

Dress for the evening is going to be casual. Jeans or a jean skirt- whatever your daughter will feel the most comfortable in. We will be playing some mixer games and eating supper so send them hungry!!

We plan to be done with the evening around 8:00-8:30p and will take the girls home. Let us know if you want your daughter dropped off somewhere else other than your house.

If you have yet to do so, please RSVP in the comment section so we can plan for the correct number!

As always, if you have ANY questions, concerns or suggestions please do not hesitate to contact us. You can send an email to mortong3@gmail.com or to Heather at heatherknobloch@mac.com.

We are getting excited and look forward to the 21st!

Welcome!

Welcome to the Morton G3 blog!

We are all so excited that you will be joining us this year as we grow into more godly girls!

Our first activity will be a casual "Get to Know You" night. Mark your calendars for February 21st @ 6:30pm. Heather will be hosting, and to make transportation as easy as possible, we will provide rides from church to Heather's house for the girls. Please drop your daughter(s) off at church BY 6:20pm and we'll bring them home afterward. Plan on them returning home around 8:3opm, but it may be a little later if we're having too much fun to stop!!

As we said at the meeting, we want you parents to be involved in this. These are your daughters and no one knows them better than you do. We will be praying for each girl, so if you know a specific area or topic we can pray for her, please let us know.

We desire your feedback. Let us know which events the girls liked in particular. We are here to have fun and build relationships while we all grow more into the girls God created us to be. Everyone is a unique individual, with unique interests and some will not enjoy activities that others love. We older girls are a bit out of the loop when it comes to jr. high interests these days, so we're trying to come up with activities that will be cool and fun for the girls, but let's face it, we're getting old.

As time goes on, we will be adding short talks on topics relevant to the girl's lives. They all face certain issues and struggles that come with their age. Things such as peer pressure, parental respect, modesty, friendships with boys, internet safety, etc are universal for junior high girls. Even if they don't face those things at this very moment, they will most likely at some point in their future. We want to help reinforce the godly upbringing you have given your daughter and encourage her to make the right choices. Again, you know your girls and what they are dealing with now. If there is a topic or something specific you would like for us to address, please let us know. We will do our best to research it, and present it to the girls.

We are new at this. We feel a little nervous and very excited. One thing is for sure, God place a burden for these girls on our hearts and we are following His leading. Please pray for us and with us as we undertake this journey together!!

Please RSVP in the comment section. If this is your first time using a blog, it's pretty straight forward.
  1. At the end of this post, there will be some information. The last part of the information will say "COMMENTS". Click "COMMENTS".
  2. A new, small window will appear. This is the comment wondow. A text box is at the top for you to write in. This is where you RSVP, share feedback, comments, etc. *be aware that everyone has access to the comments posted, so if you want to discuss or share something private, please email.
  3. Under the text box is a "word" and then a "WORD VERIFICATION" box. This is so that computers can not access the comments section and advertise. All you have to do is type the "word" (sometimes it is letters that don't really make a word) in the box.
  4. Next is the option to "Choose an identity". Click the circle next to "Name/URL" (Unless you are a Blogger user and already have a user account. If you have no idea what I am talking about here, then you don't have one.)
  5. Two text areas will appear under the "Name/URL" button. One is for your name- enter your name. The other is for a URL (basically an internet address) which you will leave blank.
  6. Double check what you wrote then click the orange "PUBLISH YOUR COMMENT" button.
  7. Your comment will now appear in the comment box.
  8. To close the comment box, click "Close this window" in the upper right side, just under the yellow shaded area.
  9. You did it!
